At the center of California lies the Yosemite National Park. The Park is famous for its amazing and heartwarming land features. In this place, you find eye catching features that include, but not limited to hanging valleys, waterfalls, polished domes and also the u-shaped valleys. These features present an overview of different kinds of relief features formed as a result of glaciation. At around 700m to 4000m deep, you find exceptional types of flora and fauna.
Yosemite's Natural Beauty
Natural beauty is presented here in plenty. Five of the highest waterfalls in the world, granite domes, very deeply incised valleys, lakes and a wide range of natural species are just some of the many things that make Yosemite National Park a center of natural beauty and tourist attraction. Here, you find nature at its best and it is very hard for anyone not to notice the amazing landscapes together with the unique land forms.
Effects of glacial erosion are highly evident in this place with unique landforms formed as a result of glacial action. Glacial action has lead to the formation of distinctive domes, hanging valleys, moraines and tarns. Distinctive glacial features such as the walls of El Captain, which are vertical walls and Half Dome are a true reflection of how geology works. Yosemite National Park is one of the few places in the world that fully represents the impacts and effects of glacial action with the numerous granitic landforms that cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
Repeated glaciations, over a very long period, has led to the formation of these granitic features. Soaring cliffs and free falling waterfalls are some of the unique features that you will find at the Yosemite National Park. The Yosemite Valley is one of the best representation of a highly glaciated topography that you will find at the Park.
