The exhibits show the long history of the country, reflecting both Armenian history and the influence of the Ancient Greeks. Yerevan also houses one of the largest collections of ancient books and documents at the Matenadaran Institute. The institute itself is a spectacular building and is one of the many surprises waiting for visiting tourists.
